You wouldn’t believe the gunk that’s hiding in our go-to summer meals. Let’s lighten up as much as a sunshiny day and take better care of ourselves with these amazing pork rind swap outs.

  • Fried, but not chicken of rinds– Fried Chicken can be made healthier with a crust of pork rinds. Use this simple recipe as a starting point and you’ll find grease is just a word and doesn’t belong in your body.
  • Pies of Pizza! This recipe takes the dough of America’s favorite call out meal and makes it a true wonder of better-for-you deliciousness. Gluten-free, reduced in calories, and packed full of protein, a pork rind pizza pie has a crunchy crust that delivers unique bacon flavor.
  • Chippy that’s Dippy- Make a difference to your nachos by dumping the tortilla chips and using pork rinds. You’ll find a lightness and crunch you didn’t have before, plus pork rinds can hold more of the good stuff! Here are some dip recipes we suggest making that will compliment our rinds wonderfully.

Pork rinds really are a power snack that’s a gluten-free, zero carb, and low-calorie crunch. You can’t go wrong with our delicious little beauties. Here are a few things you are better off not eating so you can keep leaner than an on-duty Marine.

  • If your popcorn is floating, so will you– Popcorn can be loaded with butter. Butter in moderation is good but if a package is labeled as “mega-butter”, “lots-o-butter” or “Butter BUTTER!”, stay away. If you need the fix butter provides, try protein packed rinds. You’ll be satisfied without expanding your boxers.
  • Mr. Potato Head– Potato chips are something we should all avoid. Who wants greasy, calorie-filled, yellow tubers when you can have light, airy, melt-in-your-mouth, cooked-with-real-love, pieces of heavenly protein? Unlike spuds, we don’t mess with your blood sugar. Eat and be merry and don’t eat something that’s buried under the ground.
  • Cracked for sure– Crackers are not your friends. They’re little circles and squares of culinary bad news and hate. Crackers are filled with refined flour, hydrogenated oils and high-fructose corn syrup. There are better American ingredients that will keep you soaring with the eagles. Lighten up and let’s eat with the dignity our forefather’s expected! Pork rinds are your answer!
