Ingredients

    Porky Mozzarella Sticks:

    • 1 cup Southern Recipe Original Pork Rinds, crushed
    • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
    • 16 pieces String cheese
    • Peanut oil (enough to fill a skillet by 1/2")

Preparation

1. Preheat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

2. While the oil is heating, crush pork rinds in a food processor until they resemble bread crumbs.

3. Add your preferred seasoning to the crushed pork rinds and mix well.

4. Lightly beat an egg in a bowl.

5. Dip a string cheese stick completely into the egg to coat.

6. Transfer the coated cheese to a bag with the pork rind crumbs.

7. Firmly mold the pork rind crumbs around the cheese while it's in the bag, pressing to help the crumbs stick.

8. Carefully place the cheese stick into the preheated oil.

9. Cook for 2–4 minutes, turning once, and cook for an additional 1–4 minutes until the coating is lightly browned.

10. Move cooked cheese sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

11. Serve hot.
