New Year’s Resolutions You’ll Keep

Happy New Year

Now, we’re all for overachieving, but are we all a little tired of making the hopeful promise of a New Year’s Resolution only to have it come crashing down on February 1st? Here are a few tips to help you nail down your promise so you can feel accomplished throughout 2019.

1. Be Real … Really.

The surest way to fall short of your goal is to make it near impossible. For instance, resolving to never eat your favorite food again is setting you up for failure. Unless it means not eating potato chip ever again, then we say, good on ya!  Pork rinds are the better-for-you way to go.

2. Plan Ahead.

Don’t make your resolution on New Year’s Eve. If you wait until the last minute, it will be based on your mindset that particular day.

3. Stick to it.

Experts say it takes about 21 days to become a habit and six months for it to become part of your life. Remember, it won’t happen overnight, so be persistent and patient! Don’t forget to reward yourself throughout the process. Like with an order of pork rinds.

4. Failure Sometimes Becomes an Option.

Obsessing over the occasional slip up won’t do you any good. Take one day at a time and look over the past successes and before you know it, you’ll be back on track.

Good news, if all fails and you totally bomb, there’s always 2020 to look forward to.
