I’m Comin’ Home Mama!

pork-rinds-for-mother-day I'm Comin' Home Mama!

What more can we say about mom? She was in labor for [insert hours] when you were born, now it’s your turn to repay her with gratitude. (Now doubt we love moms. Check out our family matriarch here.) Change up Mother’s Day with these 4 ideas that will be a joy for mom and you.

  1. Hit Up the Dive Bar. Unconventional, but remember mom wasn’t always, well mom. She got out and enjoyed life well before you were even a thought. Tip: fill up on a high protein Southern Recipe Original pork rind snack before hitting the town.
  2. BBQ Time. Forget about that stuffy (and expensive) Mother’s Day brunch. Plus, when was the last time you got your belly’s worth? Did they serve up your favorite Hot & Spicy pork rinds? We bet not.Instead, fire up the grill (clean the grates, it is of course for mom) and try this Grilled Pork Stuffed with Pork Rinds recipe.
  3. Pull out a long lost memory. Share a fun – or funny – memory. Find that first-grade photo with the bad haircut or reminisce about the time she chauffeured you around on that awkward first date. Reliving the memory will bring joy to mom, and yes a little embarrassment to you.
  4. Don’ts: a) don’t get her something that she hates (for example, if she hates to vacuum, don’t get her a new vacuum cleaner). b) don’t fight with your family on her day. Crunch on some Bar-B-Que rinds instead of your siblings. c) don’t forget to at least call, no matter how old you are, you still are her little baby.
