A savory snack mix combining pork rinds, nuts, and spices for a crunchy, addictive treat with Southern roots.
Ingredients
- Pork Rind Piggy Chow:
• 1 bag Southern Recipe Original Pork Rinds
• 2 oz. Semi-sweet, dark chocolate, or milk chocolate chips
Preparation
1. Combine cream, eggs, water, sugar, raisins, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl.
2. Butter a 1-quart casserole dish.
3. Place lightly crushed pork rinds in the dish and pour the liquid mixture over them.
4. Preheat oven to 350°F.
5. While the oven preheats, let the casserole sit so the pork rinds can absorb some of the liquid.
6. Sprinkle the top with additional cinnamon.
7. Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until lightly browned.
8. Let cool slightly before serving.
